What is a commercial split heat pump?
A commercial split-system heat pump is a heating, air conditioning, and ventilation system divided between an outdoor unit (condenser) and an indoor unit (evaporator). The two units are connected by copper piping throughout the house. The outdoor unit contains a coil that acts as a heat exchanger and compressor. The indoor unit houses a coil and a fan. The fan in the indoor unit circulates air through your company’s ventilation system. The freon acts as a refrigerant when it passes through the copper piping between the two coils (indoor unit and outdoor unit). The heat in the air is absorbed by the freon.
